Ponnala, Ponnam escape unhurt in lift crash

Information technology minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday escaped unhurt after the elevator broke down as the hydraulic system failed and it dropped down with a bang.

Reports stated that both leaders were here to inaugurate a private hospital in the district. After inaugurating the hospital, both the leaders got into the elevator which came down suddenly, sources said. It is learnt that neither of them suffered any injuries in the accident. The cause of the mishap was due to overloading.

Ramagundam MLA Somarapu Satyanaryana suffered a knee injury and Vemulawada temple chairman B Venkateshwar was also hurt.
