Congress sweeps APCO polls

Congress swept the polls held for the posts of directors of AP State Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society Ltd on Sunday.

The ruling party has won 22 of the 24 posts of directors whereas the TDP one and an independent one each. The election to the post of chairman will be held on Monday.

Sources said chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana have finalised the name of senior Congress leader from Guntur district M Hanumantha Rao for APCO chairman’s post of Apco. Congress leader from Kadapa district G Srinivas is also said to be aspiring to the post.
