Air Costa owned by Lingamaneni Estates Private Limited, is all set to launch its services between Vijayawada-Hyderabad and Vijayawada-Chennai in April.
However, LEPL management is not providing hints on the launch as it is planning to make an announcement in this regard soon.
The city is likely to have direct air connectivity to Chennai if Air Costa plans are executed. At present, Air India, SpiceJet and Jet Airways are operating flights to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi from Gannavaram airport. There are two daily SpiceJet flights and one each by Air India and Jet Airways from the city now.
Air Costa reportedly received an NOC from the Ministry of Civil Aviation in Feb. to launch of its operations .
Though Air Costa initially planned to launch operations using five Bombardier Q400s, is now planning to operate two Embraer ERJ 170s, sources said.
