5 die in road mishaps in Mahbubnagar district

As many as five persons died and three were injured in two ghastly road mishaps in Mahbubnagar district on Friday.

In the road mishap that took place near Mannemkonda village between Mahbubnagar and Devarakadra towns, three of a family died when their car collided head on with a truck coming from opposite direction. The  front portion of the car got fused into the front portion of the truck. All the three occupants of the car were crushed to death.

The deceased were identified as Shivaraj (56), his son Anil Kumar (21) and daughter Keerthivani (16). They were on their way back to their native Shivarampalle on Hyderabad city outskirts from Hubli in Karantaka, after attending a private function. Mahbubnagar rural police registered a case and shifted bodied government hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, in another incident, two members of the same family died and three others were injured when the car in which they were travelling ploughed into a stationary truck at Shadnagar toll plaza. The deceased were identified as T Ganesh (26) and T Rajeswari (26).

Police said T Pandurangan, who runs a private school in Alwal, was going to Bangalore with his sons T Veera Kumar and T Ganesh and their wives T Rajeswari and T Usha Rani respectively. Brakes of the car reportedly failed and the vehicle rammed into a truck.  While Ganesh and Rajeswari died on the spot, other three were seriously injured and were shifted to Shamshabad hospital. The condition of the injured persons was reported to be serious.
