Midhani expects Rs 600 crore turnover

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) is expecting to meet a turnover of Rs 600 crore for the year  2013 while it was 100 crore a decade ago,  M Narayana Rao, chairman and managing director of  Midhani said at a Customer Meet held here on Friday.

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) is expecting to meet a turnover of Rs 600 crore for the year  2013 while it was 100 crore a decade ago,  M Narayana Rao, chairman and managing director of  Midhani said at a Customer Meet held here on Friday.

He said that as part of the customers meet, an interactive session will be held where customers will explain their product needs to representatives of Midhani and explore options of manufacturing customised products. The meet was conducted on the theme ‘Future quality challenges : A joint perspective’.

Representative of DRDO’s labs, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited etc., attended the meet.

The organisation supplies products to space, defence and atomic energy units, which includes supply of high strength steel for vehicle armors to shield bullets and titanium alloys for defence industry apart from other products. 

DK Likhi, director of production and marketing, Midhani, said;  “We are planning to get into new business products like high pressure filters, castings etc., We are aiming to generate 15 per cent of new business in the coming five years.”.

In future, production and development will go beyond just manufacturing and recycling of the products will also be discussed, he said.

SN Mantha, chairman and managing director, BDL, VS Krishna Murthy, director of finance, Midhani, and T V Reddy, chief vigilance officer, Midhani were present.
