Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers (TNGOs) Association on Friday took strong exception to the contents of the task force report which is understood to have been submitted to the Union home ministry on the status of Hyderabad after division of the state.
TRS leader KT Rama Rao described the report as one that had been written at the behest of Seemandhra capitalist class, and the TNGOs Association damned it as an issue of white lies.
Speaking to newsmen, Rama Rao said the recommendations in the report were meant to perpetuate ‘dadagiri’ of Seemandhra capitalist class on Hyderabad in the guise of governor’s administration.
Rama Rao said that the report of K Vijaya Kumar who led the Task Force was skewed and ran against the interests of the people of Telangana. In fact, Hyderabad had become scam capital of India because of the Seemandhra leaders. The prominent among those who made Hyderabad earn the dubious distinction include YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Nimmagadda Prasad, Koneru Prasad, Ramalingaraju of Satyam and N Chandrababu Naidu. “Who were all these people and from where have they come,” Rama Rao said.
Rama Rao said that Vijaya Kumar’s report had hurt the sentiments of the people of Telangana who have been fighting for a separate state. “When people from other states are living without any fear in Hyderabad, why should those from Seemandhra worry about their security,” he asked and wanted to know who should get security whether it is Seemandhras from Telanganites or the other way round? “When we lived under the rule of Seemandhra for 52 years, can’t Seemandhras live under Telangana rule for five years,” he asked.
The TNGO association too reacted on similar lines and described the report as an affront on the dignity of the people of Telangana region.
Association president G Devi Prasad said that there was no question of accepting governor’s rule on Hyderabad for 10 years. He said TNGO delegation would visit Delhi and lobby against governor’s rule in Hyderabad with leaders of all national parties, he said.
