Members of APNGOs and Advocates JACs staged a dharna at Three Town police station here Monday in protest against granting of station bail to G Sriraj and G Sundar, sons of Amalapuram MP GV Harsha Kumar.
The dharna continued for three hours, creating tension. As a pre-cautionery measure, a heavy police bundobust was made at the station.
APNGO JAC convenor G Haribabu, Advocates JAC co-convenor Muppalla Subba Rao sought to know on what grounds the bail was granted to the accused and asked the Urban SP to issue a clarification in this regard. The agitators raised slogans against the police.
SP TRK Murthy said as the case was registered under Section 324, which allows bail and because of it bail was given to the duo. At last, the agitators left the place.
Meanwhile, Amalpuram MP GV Harsha Kumar garlanded the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar statue at Gokavaram bus station where he reached along with his sons and supporters.
