Vets herd 'Ministers' on streets of Rajahmundry

About 500 veterinary doctors and staff decorated the sheep with the photos of TRS leaders and they raised slogans against Sonia Gandhi, asking her not to divide the state.

The Samaikyandhra agitation continued for the 50th day Wednesday and the protestors are planning to intensify the agitation. As part of it, about 500 veterinary doctors and staff staged a dharna at the road-cum-rail bridge for three hours bringing traffic to a standstill.

They decorated the sheep with the photos of TRS leaders. They raised slogans against Sonia Gandhi, asking her not to divide the state.

Animal Husbandry department employees joint action committee chairman Dr K Nagesh Babu said water disputes would arise between Telangana and Seemandhra with the division of the state. Along with agriculture, dairy sector would also be ruined. Animal Husbandry department employees district action committee chairman Dr K Ramakoteswara Rao said the decision to divide the state will impact 13 districts in Seemandhra area.The elected representatives should resign the demand of the people.

Under the aegis of YSR Congress Party leader TKV Reddy, the partymen immersed the flex photo of Sonia Gandhi in the Godavari. YSRCP men hurled tomatoes and eggs on the photos of Congress leaders at the fort gate. MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, A Vasu and others were present.  The protest programmes continued at Kakinada, Amalapuram and other places.
