Following the failure of his proposal for dividing the state into Seemandhra and Rayala Telangana to cut ice with his party high command, senior Congress leader JC Diwakar Reddy flew off the handle at his party top brass on Saturday.

Lambasting the AICC leadership for its stubborn attitude on the issue of bifurcation, the Congress veteran said he was unable to understand why the Congress high command was behaving in such an adamant manner.

Speaking to mediapersons  here on Saturday,  he wondered why his party high command was reacting to the pleas of the people of Seemandhra in  a provocative manner.

Stating that his party leadership’s present attitude towards Seemandhra people would cause irreparable loss to the party in the region, the senior politico said, “Seemandhra people have been on streets for the past 55 days and the party leaders  have been knocking on the doors of the AICC top brass. Despite all this, the Congress leadership is hell-bent on dividing the state.”

Diwakar Reddy disapproved of the Centre’s decision to sanction the Rs 2 lakh Crore IT Investment Region (ITIR) to Hyderabad. JC felt that this would further anger the Seemandhra people who were already agitated by the Congress high command’s unilateral decision to bifurcate the state. “This sort of attitude of our party high command is forcing senior leaders like me not only to resign from the party but also to retire from politics,” he said.
