VIJAYAWADA: State Information Commission (SIC) Regional Joint Director Choragudi Johnson said that the government had set up a State Information Wing (SIW) in Hyderabad to gather daily news reports on government’s performance from all the 13 districts. The wing aims to collect negative and positive news reports from all the districts regarding various departments and presents them to the chief minister.

At the review meeting held at SIC in Vijayawada, Johnson said that as chief minister Chandrababu Naidu gave utmost importance to media reports, he urged district information and public relations department officials to be alert and track down all the news reports relating to government departments and mail them to State Information Wing in Hyderabad daily by 5 am.

Johnson advised officials to concentrate on news reports belonging to important departments like education, irrigation, sanitation, drinking water, health, municipal, agriculture and revenue among others. He asked them to periodically ascertain the priorities and send related news reports to the SIW. Johnson also urged officials belonging to various departments to respond on the news reports relating to their departments quickly.

DPRO K Sada Rao was present at the review meeting. District officials K Raja Kumari, Naga Bhushanam, N Rama Rao and SV Mohana Rao among others were present.
