VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation commissioner C Harikiran has ordered the officials to submit a list of eligible persons for allotment of shops on the Krishna river bund area.
The commissioner visited localities near the Krishna river bund including Bhramarambapuram and Krishnalanka Swargapuri Road Thursday and inspected the area where some of the inhabitants have been already allotted flats in the G+3 housing venture at Jakkampudi.
He instructed the city planning and housing officers to enrol the names of other people and prepare an alternate plan for those whose houses were excluded in the enumeration.
Based on the request of 24th division corporator Chandana Suresh, the commissioner promised employment opportunities to the people of Krishna river bund area working in graveyards. Hari Kiran directed the officials to submit a list of eligible people for the allotment of flats and shops.
Executive engineer (Housing) A Udaya Kumar, assistant city planner V Sunitha, assistant director of horticulture Subba Rao and other officials concerned were present.
