VIJAYAWADA: Director of KBN PG College Y Narasimha Rao has stressed the need for teamwork for success in management careers.

Addressing students at the state-level management students annual meeting ‘Management Aptitude and Skill Test (Mast - 2014)’, at the college in the city Saturday, he emphasised upon improvement in the standards of education.

Air Costa corporate and media relations manager Pramod Mitta said the budding entrepreneurs should inculcate communication, dimensional, technical and leadership skills.

Convenor of MAST-2014 M Surendranath asked the students to acquire knowledge to face the challenges in life.

As many as 400 participants from Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts took part in several events like ‘Young Managers’, ‘Market Makers’, “B-quiz’ and ‘Stock game’ organised by the student committee members of KBN College.

K Jitendra, an MBA student from RVR & JC College, Guntur, told the Express that it was a great opportunity to sharpen management skills and added that such event provide a platform for exchance of knowledge.

However, some students expressed disappointment over the schedule of the events as all of them were conducted during the same time. An MBA student, BK Chaitanya of SRK College, said, “We are allowed to take part in only one event and it is difficult for us to choose among the four as the preliminary round for all the events were conducted at the same time.”

Student organiser K Chandrakanth said that unlike in the previous years, the event was held only on a single day so they had to design the schedule accordingly.

The student-centred events were followed by prize distribution ceremony and cultural programmes. Ravuri Venkata Subba Rao, prominent businessman, gave away the prizes to the winners in respective events.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Students must identify the industrial needs and sharpen their skills accordingly.”

Principal P Krishnamurthy, vice-principal V Narayana Rao, director of PG Courses KR Satyanarayana and others were present at the meet.
