GUNTUR: Social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu has directed the officials concerned to develop Prathipadu constituency as a ‘model constituency’ and take up interlinking of roads in the segment.
Speaking at a review meeting with the district officials at the Collectorate here Friday, the minister instructed the officials to ensure drinking water facilities to all the villages in the constituency, and also to set in motion the developmental works at the schools, hostels and hospitals. He also ordered the officials to prepare proposals to carry out repair works wherever required.
Kishore Babu further asked the officials to take up construction of roads in the district under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and prepare a report on the places with no road connectivity in the district.
District collector Kantilal Dande ordered the Zilla Parishad CEO and district panchayat officer (DPO) to carry out random tests on water quality at various water sources in the district, and asked the Rural Water Supply (RWS) Department officials to supply protected drinking water to people.
He instructed the district medical and health officer (DM&HO) to conduct tests to check the fluorine content in the water.
The collector said that `1.46-crore fund was constituted for development of areas under the corporation limits and asked the the officials to use of the fund effectively.
ZP chairperson Janimuna Shaik, additional joint collector K Nageswara Rao, district revenue officer K Naga Babu, ZP CEO B Subba Rao, officials of GMC and other department were present at the review meeting.
