BJP Letter to Babu on Cement Cartel

BJP floor leader in the Assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju said that they had submitted a letter to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to look into the problem of cement price hike, and cartelisation of cement manufacturers.

VIJAYAWADA: BJP floor leader in the Assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju said that they had submitted a letter to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to look into the problem of cement price hike, and cartelisation of cement manufacturers.

At a press meet at the state party office here Sunday, Vishnu Kumar Raju said that BJP was committed to resolve problems faced by people, and added that they would not support the Telugu Desam party, if it takes any hasty decisions, just because they were in alliance with the party.

“For the Centre to take an action against the cartelisation of cement manufacturers, the state government should represent the problem to the Competition Commission of India (CCI). We have given a letter to the CM in this regard, and he responded positively and said that he would talk to the secretary of Industries department,” he said.

Vishnu Kumar Raju, MLA of Vizag (North) constituency, spoke about various steps taken in his constituency to bring the liquor sales under control. “Strict law enforcement on the operation of bars and wine shops has brought down the sale of liquor. We have deployed two guards at liquor outlets, so that families and women can walk freely,” he said and quickly added that the leaders in Vijayawada also would take necessary actions to bring down sale of liquor.

BJP state secretary J Shyam Kishore, BJP’s Seemandhra Udyama Committee convener V Srinivasa Raju and other party leaders were present.
