VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district received 196.9 cm of rainfall Tuesday. Kalidindi mandal registered the highest rainfall of 8.5 cm followed by Tiruvuru (6.8 cm), Gudur (6.6 cm), Bantumilli (6.2 cm), Kruthivennu and Kaikalur (6 cm).
Vatsavai mandal received the lowest rainfall of 1 cm. Vijayawada recorded 4.5 cm of rainfall. On an average Krishna district received 3.9 cm of rain Tuesday. While normal rain received every year during the same period (between June 1 and July 29) is 1,501 cms in district, till now 1,214 cm of rainfall has been registered this year. While farmers were busy in farm works, Vijayawada witnessed Ramzan celebrations in spite of rain. On the whole, the incessant rains have brought cheers though normal life was affected in urban areas.
