Naidu Forms 2 Jumbo Committees for Telangana

After a week-long exercise, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has announced two ‘16-member committees’ for his party in Telagnana in such a manner that his act will please all the top leaders of his party from Telangana by accommodating all of them in those committees.

Refraining from setting up any separate unit of the party for Telangana, the TDP president on Monday constituted two 16-member committees- elections committee and manifesto committee- for the party in Telangana.

Elections Committee: Party MLA from Karimnagar district L Ramana is the president of the election committee which has E Dayakar Rao as working president and T Devender Goud as adviser. M Narsimhulu is the convener. Ramesh Rathod, T Srinivas Yadav, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Nama Nageswara Rao are general secretaries. Mandava Venkateswara Rao, T Prakash Goud, Ali Masqati, Pothuganti Ramulu, Yeleti Annapurnamma, Revanth Reddy, Yegga Mallesam and Ravulapati Seetharama Rao are members of it.

Manifesto Committee: Senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy is the convener of the manifesto committee. Tummala Nageswar Rao, Danasuri Anasuya (Sithakka), A Uma Madhava Reddy, Bodakunti Venkateswarlu, Kothakota Dayakar Reddy, Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao, Aravind Kumar Goud, Vem Narender Reddy, Alladi Raj Kumar, Syed Yusuf Ali, E Peddi Reddy, A Narsa Reddy, Chiliveru Kasinath, M Safan Dev and G Sayanna are its members.

Te TDP chief said he was not setting up a full-fledged unit for Telangana as that could be done only after the general body meeting of the party. He, however, made it clear that the ad hoc committee would continue to be the party committee for Telangana even after the general election. “The election committee has full powers what the party president is enjoying now,” he said.

BC CM

Naidu reiterated that he would make a BC leader chief minister of  T-state if his party came to power. Claiming that TDP is the only party which is working for political empowerment of BCs, he also said that only his party could establish ‘Social Telangana’ where an egalitarian society prevails.

Promises

The party’s manifesto for panchayat polls promises waiver of all crop loans and loans taken by women SHGs, Rs 2,000 unemployment dole, hike in old-age pension to Rs 1,000, 24-hour power supply to households and 9-hour free power to farming sector, 20 litres of mineral water for  Rs 2 to weaker sections under NTR Sujala Scheme.
