GUNTUR: A senior journalist working for Telugu daily 'Andhra Prabha' died following an attack on him by unidentified miscreants at Chilakaluripet town, police said Wednesday.

According to police, 50-year-old MNV Shankar was attacked late last night by unidentified assailants as he was returning home from his office. He was attacked with iron rods and sustained injuries to his head.

Shankar was initially admitted to a local private hospital before being shifted to the government hospital, where he was declared dead.
