Srikakulam Has Potential for Industrial Development: AP CM

SRIKAKULAM: Srikakulam district has potential for industrial development and industrialists have come forward to establish industries in the district, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said.

He visited the district to inaugurate VKT Pharma Pvt Ltd set up by his friend Potluri Ramesh Babu.

After inaugurating the pharma unit, he addressed a gathering of DWACRA women from various places in the district and asserted that his party's most important election promise of waiving off farmers' loans would be implemented after receiving final figures from banks.

Despite not getting the Reserve Bank of India's permission, he expressed his commitment to go ahead with his poll promises.

He announced Rs 1 lakh financial support and free loans to all self help groups.

After financial assistance was announced instead of loan waiver on par with farmers' loans, distressed self help group members raised slogans saying that it is nothing but deception.

He said that 24-hours power supply to industries and nine hours of power supply to the agriculture sector would be implemented for which the government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Union Power Ministry.

Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati would be developed as megacities and ten other smart cities will be developed through the Urban Development Mission, he said.
