Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar for RINL

VISAKHAPATNAM: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the state-run second biggest steel producer, has been presented with the Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP), a national award for innovative suggestions (Performance Year 2012). The award was instituted by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment to recognise excellent performance by workmen in industries.

The RINL won the distinction for the ninth time in a row. Foreman (Electrical) A Valli and deputy technician (blast furnace department) Ch Nooka Raju, who were involved in the implementation of the suggestion on ‘Modification of Pusher Cars’, took the award on behalf of RINL in a glittering ceremony held in New Delhi Wednesday. Union minister for labour and employment, steel and mines Narendra Singh Tomar gave away the VRP awards to the winners in the presence of labour, employment, steel and mines minister Vishnu Dev Sai.

RINL chairman-cum-managing director P Madhusudan congratulated the winners and observed that their employees once again proved their innovation and competitiveness in carrying out the job successfully. Director (Personnel) GBS Prasad, manager (Electrical) of blast furnace department MVN Prithvi Raj and senior manager (HR) N Sundaram were present.
