VISAKHAPATNAM: A woman police constable allegedly attempted suicide by stuffing clothes into her mouth in an attempt to gag herself, at her residence at Visalakshinagar area here Sunday. Sources said that Anusha Joy (30), a constable in the Communication Wing at the Visakhapatnam Rural police station, took maternity leave six months ago and rejoined duty a month back. Her job demanded that she work various shifts in a day, which allegedly led to her having issues with the shift allocation as she had had a baby. She has been reportedly depressed of late, as she has been scheduled to attend night shifts, and hence took the extreme step.
