VIJAYAWADA: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made submission of bank account details mandatory for its members.
As per the directives of EPFO Central PF commissioner KK Jalan, every employer should furnish the information regarding the core banking account number with IFSC code of the bank branch by October 15 and the bank account details of the previous members under its employment should be provided by October 31. Members of the fund, who are presently not employees of any establishment covered under EPFO should provide their bank account details, a crossed cheque with member’s name and previous PF account number at any regional or sub-regional office of EPFO before November 31, regional PF commissioner of Guntur region has informed.
These details are sought by the EPFO for making Universal Account Numbers operational. Till now, the EPFO has collected bank account details of 1.80 crore employees, PAN details of 86.9 lakh employees and Aadhaar number of 28.2 lakh employees.
