AP Govt to Relocate 5 HoDs to Vijayawada

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has decided to work three days in a week from Vijayawada from November, has begun identifying the heads of departments (HoDs) that are to be shifted to the new capital from Hyderabad immediately.

Naidu is understood to have identified the heads of irrigation, health, agriculture, revenue and education departments to be relocated to Vijayawada in the first phase.According to sources, the chief minister directed three-member committee of officers, recently set up to identify departments to be shifted on priority basis, to find out office accommodation for the HoDs that are being planned to be relocated to Vijayawada.

“The chief minister directed the three-member panel and collectors of Guntur and Krishna districts to find suitable places in and around Vijayawada to shift the identified HoDs at the earliest,” said the source.

Naidu also asked the officials to find suitable place for accommodation of employees who will be relocated to the new capital in due course. In fact, the three-member panel of officers has been on the job of finding office space for the HoDs.
