Over 1.5-L Devotees Have Durga Darshan

VIJAYAWADA: More than 1.5 lakh devotees visited the Durga Temple atop the Indrakeeladri Hill in the city Sunday, the fourth day of ‘Dasara Mahotsavams’. The presiding deity was adorned as ‘Annapurna Devi’ on the occasion.

While devotees in large numbers thronged the temple from early hours, darshan began at 3 am and continued till night. The Indrakeeladri Hill presented a spell-binding picture with sparkling colourful lights and an ocean of people. Even the surroundings areas in 1-km radius of the hill plunged into festive spirit as the people were soaked in devotion and piety.

Meanwhile, the temple officials heaved a sigh of relief as no untoward incident was reported. There was no shortage of ladoo prasadam and the devotees had a hassle-free darshan of the presiding deity. Goddess Durga will be adorned as ‘Lalitha Tripura Sundari Devi’ on Monday.
