GUNTUR: As many as three ministers occupied their offices at the temporary secretariat being built at Velagapudi in the capital region of Amaravati on Thursday.
Home minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa, Municipal Administration minister P Narayana and Roads and Buildings and Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao formally entered into their offices in the interim government complex.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayana said that all works of the temporary secretariat will be completed by August 9 and the full-pledged functioning of all government departments will commence from the same place from August 10.
Reiterating that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, with an intention to take up the entire administration from Amaravati, took up the initiative to build the temporary secretariat, Narayana said that as per the instructions of Naidu, the construction companies and officials of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) completed the works in record time allowing the state government to take up its administration. Stating that already several departments shifted to the temporary secretariat, Narayana said that the process of shifting the whole administration will be completed at the earliest after the relocation of Chief Minister’s Office, which is expected by the end of August.
Meanwhile, contrary to the statement of the minister, officials at the construction site said that it will take at least a month to complete the ongoing works.
Deputy Chief Minister Chinnarajappa and Transport minister Sidda Raghava Rao expressed happiness over shifting of their respective offices to the new capital.
CRDA commissioner Cherukuri Sridhar and other officials were present.
