Awareness prog held on breast feeding benefits

VIJAYAWADA: As part of corporate social responsibility, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, at Currencynagar in Vijayawada, conducted an awareness programme on the benefits of breast feeding.

Pediatricians of Rainbow hospital created awareness among pregnant woman and early mothers to address misconceptions about breast feeding.

The first week of August which was obsereved as Breast Feeding Week across the world, to remind the importance of breast feeding  Theme of the world breast feeding week 2016 is creating awareness about the releation between breast feeding and sustainable development goals by recognising that breast feeding is a key to sustainable development.

Pediatrician and Neonatal speicalist S Ram Prasad of Rainbow hospital said that in eneral it is observed many pregnant woman after delivery avoid breast feed new borns in the first golden hour due to lack of awareness about the importance of that particular time.

It is the important action for the survival of the new born, he said.
