Two workers killed in wall collapse

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two contract labourers died and three were injured in a wall collapse at Vaddipa village of Rolugunta mandal in Visakhapatnam on Monday afternoon. The condition of the injured is said to be critical.

The deceased have been identified as Lanka Ramu Venkata Nageswara Rao (32) and his uncle Lanka Janampatrudu (51), both daily wagers from Vddipa village.

According to Makavarapalem sub-inspector P Ramesh, the owner of a 50-year-old tiled house with mud walls,  hired the victims to demolish the structure. Five workers were on their job on Monday and while demolishing one side of the house, the other side of the wall caved in. Nageswara Rao and Janam Patrudu died on the spot, and  three others are critically injured and undergoing treatment at the KGH.
