Stage set for river fete

KURNOOL: District officials together with Srisailam temple executive officer inspected arrangements made around Pushkar Nagars in both Srisailam and Sangame-swaram.

As many as 5,000 government staff and officials including the police department, over 2,000 vehicles including buses, trucks, cranes, tractors have been deployed in the pushkar ghats for the smooth conduct of  the 12-day festival.

In the temple town of Srisailam, there are three ghats with another two ghats at Sangameswaram and Lingalagattu.

Officials have arranged for special tents, toilets and bath rooms for the convenience of the pilgrims. Water and food will be distributed free of cost to the pilgrims.

A queue management system has been set up to manage the rush of pilgrims wishing to get a darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swami and Goddess Bramarambha Devi.
