Day observed with enthusiasm despite Pushkarams

GUNTUR: Patriotic fervour marked the Independence Day celebrations across the Guntur district on Monday.

Though, the occasion, was celebrated on a low keynote due to the ongoing Krishna Pushkarams and most of the school remained closed and also with large number of employees engaging in Pushkaram duties,  the district administration organised the celebrations on a grand note at the Police Parade ground.

Agriculture Minister P Pulla Rao hoisted the national flag and elaborated about the development achieved in various sectors of the district.

 District Collector Kantilal Dande, Guntur Urban and Rural SPs Sarva Sresht Tripathi and K Narayan Naik respectively, district in-charge joint collector M Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
