VISAKHAPATNAM: The public sector units (PSUs) celebrated the 70th Independence Day by hoisting the Tricolour and remembering the contribution of the great freedom fighters and social reformers to the nation-building.
NTPC, Pudimadaka
Reiterating the dedication of freedom fighters, Group General Manager PS Radhakrishnan, in the presence of NTPC Team with general manager Kamal Kumar Verma, AGM (HR) KS Sarma, congratulated all his team members after unfurling the flag at the site of NTPC at Pudimadaka. Radhakrishnan said: “NTPC’s installed capacity is now marked to 47,228 MW (FY 2016-17) with 18 coal-based, seven gas/liquid fuel, hydro, solar power projects. ”
Dredging Corporation of India
As the Tricolour unfurled at Dredging Corporation of India by its CMD Rajesh Tripathi, the enthusiasm was seen among the employees. The CMD said: “The DCIL is expanding operations into technical management of dredgers owned by the Inland Water Ways Authority of India (IWAI) to contribute to the economic growth.”
NTPC Simhadri
Followed by CISF salutation and march past, the students of Bal Bharati Public School performed dances and presented patriotic songs at the NTPC. PK Bondriya, group general manager, unfurled the National Flag at NTPC stadium and gave away awards and scholarships.
VSEZ
Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ), development commissioner Sobhana KS Rao hoisted the National Flag and paid homage to freedom fighters. He appreciated the efforts made by all stakeholders for the growth of exports from the SEZs and the contribution made by them for the economy’s growth.
NALCO
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) celebrated the I-Day and SP Nanda, general manager of Port Facilities, hoisted the national flag. He stressed the Swachh Bharat Mission and said that this unit would become a bench mark to all the other units of NALCO. He also asked the gathering to adopt measures on achieving energy efficiency at their houses and as well as at workplace.
Gangavaram Port
Gangavaram Port Limited celebrated the I-Day on the port premises. K Raja Ratnam Naidu, the senior vice-president (R&R and Security) was also present.
