Accidents mar Pushkarams in Mahabubnagar

MAHABUBNAGAR: Two persons were killed and several others injured during the ongoing Krishna Pushkarams in three separate incidents in the district on Tuesday.

In the first incident, a private bus carrying pilgrims turned turtle on National Highway-44 at Jadcherla leaving 20 people injured, some of them seriously and others with minor injuries. The bus was coming from Almajpur village in Yellareddipally of  Sricilla Constituency in Karimnagar district with 50 passengers.

The bus was on its way to Beechupally Pushkar ghat. According to eye witnesses, the bus turned turtle with speed when the driver of the bus dozed off while driving.

Two passengers sustained severe injuries. The injured were rushed to Badepally Community Health Center for treatment by local police.

In the second incident, a car hit a bus leading to the death of the car driver. The incident took place in Domalapenta village of Amrabad mandal, claiming the life of the car driver and leaving four others injured.

In the third one, a bike driver Praveen hit a divider in Jaunampeta village of Addakula mandal on National Highway- 44 leaving him dead instantly.
