Heavy rush at Lingeswara Swamy Temple

GUNTUR: Even as lakhs of pilgrims are thronging the famous Amara Lingeswara Swamy Temple at ancient Amaravati town, after taking a holy dip in river Krishna, Sri Amara Lingeswara Swamy Temple at Daida village in Gurazala constituency of Palnadu region in Guntur district, despite being located in a remote area, is witnessing huge crowds since the inception of the Krishna Pushkarams.

The uniqueness of the Daida temple is that its Shiva lingam was discovered in a natural tunnel on the banks of river Krishna. The tunnel leading to the Shiva lingam was so narrow that the devotees had been forced to crawl on the ground for some distance. But, widening of tunnel, installation of lights and air-condition facility inside the tunnel in the recent past, enabled them take a hassle-free and comfortable pilgrimage to the temple.
