BSNL to shift AP Circle office to Vijayawada soon

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM:The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to shift its Andhra Pradesh circle office to Vijayawada from Hyderabad on October 1. Though the State has been divided two-and-a-half years ago, the BSNL is operating from Hyderabad.

Addressing a press conference in Sanchar Bhavan here on Monday, BSNL Andhra Circle chief general Manager K Damodar Rao has said that a requistion was sent to New Delhi asking for sanction of 400 additional staff in addition to the existing 900 personnel.

In addition to this, as many as seven general managers and five deputy general managers are also required. So far, three general managers have been shifted to Vijayawada from Hyderabad and some office staff from other areas have also been shifted to Vijayawada along with assistant general managers, divisional engineers etc. The chief general manager further said the existing office in Vjayawada will be developed. Rajamahendravaram telecom district stood first in the country by selling 23,600 SIM cards, he said.
