VIJAYAWADA: Three flautists, individually and in combination of Carnatic, Hindustani and Western styles of music, are set to mesmerise the music lovers of Vijayawada.

Tri Venu, a concert of grand flute fusion and instrumental rendition of traditional compositions will be held on Saturday.

The Indie Winds Academy of Music (IWAM) is going to present the musical extravaganza in the Yatra series of five concerts, featuring three flautists from different streams of musical idiom.

In a delightful combination of Carnatic, Hindustani and Western styles of music, Italy-based flautist Nicolo Melocchi (Western classical), Rupak Kulkarni (Hindustani) and Nagaraju Talluri (Carnatic) are going to play their fusion compositions in the Trivenu concert. The concert is Thrigalbandhi, same as the dual fusion of Jugalbandhi. The event is going to be organised with the support of State government’s Cultural and Languages department and the Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada.

“The Tri Venu concert is first of its kind in the city and the Thrigalbandhi is a kind of rare. I am quite elated with the response from the State government to my proposal for holding the concert,” exulted flautist Talluri Nagaraju.
