VIJAYAWADA: : AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday clarified that he did not oppose demonetisation move as reported in a section of the media and said he had merely highlighted the difficulties being faced by people. BJP state incharge Siddharth Nath Singh too defended Naidu, claiming that the CM had only mentioned what his own party leaders were themselves saying.
He pointed out that Naidu was heading the CMs’ panel and playing a crucial role in finding a solution to demonetisation woes. Naidu, who is keen on promoting cashless transactions in the State, in fact set a ‘transaction test’ for his ministers and IAS officers on Wednesday.
He directed them at the two-day collectors’ conference, which began here Wednesday, to purchase anything using the Aadhaar-enabled biometric machines at the end of the day’s work.
