City railway station to get 10 e-PoS terminals

Even as one and a half month has passed since demonetisation, the commuters at the city railway station are finding difficult to get loose tender for travelling shorter distance.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Even as one and a half month has passed since demonetisation, the commuters at the city railway station are finding difficult to get loose tender for travelling shorter distance. The railway station is yet to get the ePos machines, but the officials say that the terminals will be available at the ticket counter by the year-end.

In total, 40 ePos machines will be installed in the Vizag division with Vizag, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Raygada under its purview. “Vizag railway station will have 10 e-PoS machines which will be placed three each in the main reservation building, general ticketing counter and general ticketing counter at Gnanapuram side and one at parcel office,” said a railway official.
The installation of ePos machines has been delayed due to some technical problem in the South Eastern Railways regarding the refund of money to the customers after cancellation of tickets. So the concerned bank authorities said that they would provide the PoS machines in a week, he added.
