GUNTUR: There will be no drinking water supply to some parts of the city on Monday evening (January 11) and Tuesday morning (January 12) as the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) officials is taking up repair works to Sangam Jagarlamudi Reservoir. As the GMC draws 25 MLD water against the demand of 90 MLD from the reservoir, it is learnt that 30 per cent of the city will not get drinking water in the said slots.
According to GMC Commissioner S Nagalakshmi, due to leakages in Sangam Jagarlamudi Head Water Works Filtration Plant, the engineering officials will take up the necessary works and thus the water supply will be affected to those areas depending on High Level Reservoir, Low Level Reservoir, which draw water from Sangam Jagarlamudi. The water supply will be restored by the evening of January 12.
