VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu again made it clear that there would not be any incentives to the industries if the state were accorded special category status. Industrial incentives and special category status were both separate issues. However, the state government welcomed the Central government special package and the Centre promised to give more incentives in the package than in the special status, Chandrababu said.

Backing the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, Chandrababu Naidu said that he had suggested to the Centre cancellation of the high denomination currency to eliminate black money. Chandrababu Naidu asked the Centre to review introduction of Rs 2,000 notes as it might promote black money.

Participating in the Janachaitanya Yatra at Chodavaram, Chandrababu said that his government had been creating more assets to the state. Post-bifurcation, there were lots of troubles. However, the government has been solving the issues and making the state numero uno in the country. During the 2004-14 Congress regime, all sectors came to a standstill and the power sector plunged into crisis. After coming back to power, the TDP government made the state power surplus and has been supplying 24/7 power.
