Vijayawada girls develop Silicon Amaravati App

The application would be useful as an information guide for newcomers and tourists to the city.

VIJAYAWADA: A mobile application, Silicon Amaravathi, has been developed by the students of Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala, which can be installed on any smartphone and can be used even when the Internet is not available. The application would be useful as an information guide for newcomers and tourists to the city.

The App was developed at the end of a one-week workshop on application development and coding organised in the college by a Hyderabad-based IT company. Students from the Department of Computer Science A Sravani, J Sai Lakshmi, N Praveena and Sudha Gayathri came up with this application which is now available on Google Play.

Silicon Amaravati will provide information about e-Seva centres, government offices, hospitals, post offices, schools and colleges, ATMs, eateries, restaurants, resorts, banks, travels, entertainment and important places. The information will be upgraded on a regular basis. Krishna Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha, who launched the App, lauded the students and called upon them to utilise the technology in a productive manner.
