VIJAYAWADA: The State government in all likelihood will refer the names of the police and forensic laboratory officers who handled the investigation of B Pharm student Ayesha Meera's murder in 2007 to the apex committee headed by the home secretary for identifying and nailing the officers responsible for framing P Satyam Babu, which led to him spending eight years behind bars for a crime he had not committed.

After a Cabinet meeting at Velagapudi on Thursday, information and public relations minister Kalava Srinivasulu, said since the High Court had issued a direction, the State government would follow it.
