Six arrested on charges of three murders

 SRIKAKULAM : Police on Friday cracked the mysteries of three murders reported in last the few months in the district and arrested as many as six persons for their alleged involvement in the case.


The accused were produced before the media in the SP Bungalow in Srikakulam on Friday.  Addressing the media, SP J Brahma Reddy said the police have solved the murder mystery of Annepu Ramesh (24), a resident of Kintali village of Ponduru mnadal, who was killed on October 1 last year. It was the victim’s friends Chintada Suresh and Tammineni Sridhar, both residents of Kintali village, who committed the crime, he said.  


Moreover Paidi Uma Maheswara Rao, who was employed with Indian army is yet to be nabbed.
Narrating the details of the case, the SP said the trio entered into a heated argument with Ramesh, who was running a gambling den at his village and later, killed him in a mango garden on the village outskirts.


In yet another case, Kaviti police arrested Jogulu and Chitamani, both residents of Karapadu village of Kaviti manal for killing Kunna Tumbanadham (55) on Febaruy 5 this year. In a drinking brawl, the duo killed Tumbanadham after entering into heated argument with him at the wine shop in Odisha.


They battered him with stones to death and dumped the body in a pond.
On April 14, the body of a woman was found in a gunny bag in Kanchili village. The lady was identified as Puspahalatha (27), a divorcee.


However Banga Prakash, who had an illicit affair with Puspahalatha killed her as she pestered him to marry her.  Prakash, in association with his friend Vellaganti Srihari,killed her and packed the body in a gunny bag before throwing it on the village outskirts.
