VIJAYAWADA :Transport Minister K Achannaidu inaugurated APSRTC’s Corona buses at Pandit Nehru Bus station here on Friday.
In the first phase, the minister launched 114 buses. “Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation will procure more air-conditioned buses to run from all bus depots in the State,” Achannaidu said.
On the occasion, Achannaidu sought cooperation of every RTC employee to bring the cash-strapped RTC out of the red.
“Losses are not new to RTC. But the hard work and collective effort of the staff will help the corporation to improve its financial condition,” the minister said. Interestingly, the minister drove a Corona bus for some distance after flagging off the buses.
The minister also requested the public to choose RTC buses to travel as the fares of RTC were within the reach of commonman and the journey would be safe and secure.
