VISAKHAPATNAM: Around 420 kg of dry ganja was seized and two inter-state ganja smugglers were arrested by the officials of prohibition and excise department here on Saturday.
Officials nabbed the smugglers when the duo were trying to transport the contraband in a lorry at Paderu in Vizag agency.
Acting on a tip-off, the prohibition and excise teams intercepted the lorry on the ghat road near Nakkalaput. However, one smuggler managed to escape.
According to sources, the trio had procured the weed from interior areas in the Visakha Agency and the lorry was heading towards Anakapalle from Munchingiput.
