VISAKHAPATNAM: A case was registered against a man for allegedly blackmailing his classmate using morphed images of her after she turned down his marriage proposal.
The accused identified as Vijay Babu is a first-year student at a private law college in the city. The girl, a resident of the MVP colony, is also a student of the same college.
Inspector M Mahesh told the Express that Babu and the girl were lovers in the past, but she had ended her relationship with him due to some reasons. Even after the breakup, Babu continued to demand that she marry him. For the past couple of days, he has been bothering her, police said.
The girl in her complaint to the police stated that Vijay Babu was blackmailing her into marrying him using morphed images of her, said CI Mahesh.
The MVP police have registered cases under section 354 (D) of the IPC and 66 (C) of the IT act.
