Three burglars held, gold recovered

The police arrested three burglars on the outskirts of the city on Saturday and recovered 23 sovereigns of gold ornaments from them.

ELURU: The police arrested three burglars on the  outskirts of the city on Saturday and recovered 23 sovereigns of gold ornaments from them. Disclosing this to newsmen here, DSP G Venkateswara Rao said Mungi Durga Prasad, Mungi Srinu and Dasari Peddiraju of Pamuladibba were apprehended during the checks conducted by the Three Town police in the mini-bypass road area.   

When questioned, the trio confessed to committing burglaries. Cases were registered against them in Two Town and Three Town police stations. 

The trio who are friends, started committing thefts to earn easy money as they are addicted to vices. 
Durga Prasad alone committed several house burglaries at Sriramnagar, Motheyvari Thota, Sivakamakshi Colony, Vinayak Nagar, Dondapadu, Tangellamudi and SMR Nagar. 

The trio stole copper wire from the BSNL office in Sriramnagar. They were also involved in several housebreakings, the DSP said.  
CI N Rajasekhar and SI A Pydibabu were also present at the news conference.
