Coastal AP  to get heavy rain in 48 hrs

Two upper air cyclonic circulations which remain active on the state may trigger heavy rain, along with thundershower activities at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two upper air cyclonic circulations which remain active on the state may trigger heavy rain, along with thundershower activities at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema in the next 48 hours, the weathermen said.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over coastal Tamil Nadu and its neighbourhood persists, extending up to 0.9 km above the mean sea level. Another cyclonic circulation lying over the southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu and south AP coasts between 1.5 and 3.6 km above the mean sea level persists. Further, the trough on Sea Level Chart runs from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across the coastal AP.

“The prevailing weather condition suggests that heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of coastal AP and Rayalaseema in the next 48 hours,” said IMD officials.
