APSRTC new parcel service likely in September

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is planning to launch its own parcel service soon to augment its revenue as its tie-up with ANL Parcel Service.

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM : The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is planning to launch its own parcel service soon to augment its revenue as its tie-up with ANL Parcel Service   will come to an end by August 31.Speaking to newsmen here on Wednesday, APSRTC Executive Director R Sasidhar said the road transport corporation which ran the parcel service on an experimental basis last year, earned good profit. 


Buoyed by the success of the pilot project, the APSRTC management decided to enter the courier and parcel business in a full fledged manner.  It will also enable the RTC to come out of the red.  The RTC has already invited tenders for necessary software and logistics support to run the parcel service. The RTC parcel service is likely to be launched in September, he added.
