GUNTUR: A nursing student has lodged a complaint against her classmate accusing him of harassing her. Twenty-five students of second year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) led by SFI leaders accompanied her to the Kothapeta police in Guntur on Wednesday. Speaking to the media, the nursing students said that their college principal appointed two class leaders Dora Babu and Rajeswari to maintain discipline in the classroom. They accused Dora Babu of seeking sexual favours from them and touching them inappropriately.

The students said though they had taken the issue to the notice of GGH superintendent and other officials, no action had been taken so far. They stated that Dora Babu offered a soft drink laced with sedatives to Priyanka who was doing night duty at the GGH. They alleged that Dora Babu had bad intentions in his mind.

SFI leader V Bhagwan Das alleged that the college authorities have failed to take action against Dora Babu. The students also sought Women’s Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari to intervene in the issue. Kothapeta CI K Vamsidhar registered a case and took up investigation. Meanwhile, Dorababu refuted the allegations made against him. But the girl students claimed that they have video evidence with them.
