ANANTHAOUR: YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised to waive the loans of Dwcra groups completely in four phases, if the party is voted to power in the next Assembly elections. Addressing a public meeting at Papampet village in Raptadu constituency on Tuesday during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the Opposition Leader vowed to extend all support to the self-help groups for women’s empowerment. “Bring the receipt of loans from the banks. I will pay your debts in four instalments, after coming to power,” he said.

He said that people of the State were eagerly waiting for an early end to the Telugu Desam regime as it failed to deliver goods. He slammed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his failure to fulfil his election promises even after four years of the TDP regime. “I have taken up padayatra in order to protect values and trust in politics. You should ask your consciousness
on what kind of governance we need,” he said.

Jagan reminded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured to reduce power tariff but now he hiked the same. During the regime of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, eight essential commodities used to be supplied to ration card holders through the Public Distribution System. Now, only rice is being supplied through fair price shops.  The Chief Minister who promised a job to every household or provide unemployment allowance to the youth, had forgot his poll assurance, the YSRC chief said.

He said Naidu who described the Special Category Status (SCS) as Sanjeevani, mortgaged the interests of the State to the Centre for his political mileage. During the YSR regime, 85 per cent of Handri-Neeva project works were completed. But the TDP government had failed to complete the remaining project works during its four year rule to supply irrigation water to Anantapur, he said.
