KURNOOL: A wedding event took a tragic turn in Kurnool after three people died after they reportedly consumed liquor in excess during the celebrations in Billalapuram of Nandyal Mandal on Sunday night.
Two others had to be hospitalised and their condition is said to be critical. They have been shifted to the government hospital in Nandyal for treatment.

The deceased wedding guests have been identified as Krishnaiah (50), Pullaiah (35) and Guravaiah (55). Their bodies have been sent for postmortem.

According to the police, the guests at the wedding consumed liquor as part of the celebrations. The wedding organisers reportedly supplied cheap liquor mixed in steel vessels. "We are yet to ascertain if the victims died due to adulteration, excessive drinking or any other health problem. The conclusions can be drawn only after the postmortem report arrives," the police said.
