38-yr-old woman files cheating case against sub-inspector

The police are on the lookout for SI Gudipudi Sandeep (38), who is accused of cheating Duddi Padmavathi (38) on the false promise of marriage.

VIJAYAWADA: The police are on the lookout for SI Gudipudi Sandeep (38), who is accused of cheating Duddi Padmavathi (38) on the false promise of marriage.
Padmavathi lodged a complaint with the women police station of Vijayawada against SI Sandeep of Kosuru in Guntur district on February 1. Police have registered cases under IPC 376, 406, 506 and 420. Assistant Commissioner of Police for women police station, V V Naidu said that Sandeep is absconding and has switched off his mobile. “Police launched a manhunt for him and he will be arrested soon,” Naidu said.

According to Padmavathi, Sandeep befriended her in 2010 while both of them were working at State Bank of India, Guntur. Padmavathi stated that she was in a relationship with Sandeep as she was confident that he would marry her. But, later he went for police recruitment and was selected as SI. Sandeep then married another woman in 2011. Padmavathi said that the SI threatened to upload her photos and videos on social media when she insisted on marrying her.
On Monday, speaking to the media, she sought immediate suspension of the SI. Padmavathi was married and has a child, while she was in a relationship with the SI. Due to family disputes, she was living separately from her husband and took divorce in 2017. According to Padmavathi, Sandeep had forced her to get a divorce so that they both can get married.
